[BREAKING] Ubisoft Announces E3 Lineup, celebrates 25 Years of Gaming Awesome-ness

News just in! To kick off their massive E3 showcase, Ubisoft will be holding an invitation-only press conference (which will also be streamed live on Uplay and their YouTube channel), featuring unseen footage and demos of their 2012 lineup, and a few hot announcements. They'll follow that up with playable titles at their South Hall booth.

They've also just announced how hard they're hitting the market in celebration of their 25th Anniversary, with "titles spanning major genres and platforms..." including "action adventure, shooter titles, fitness games, online titles and casual games..." and I have to say, there's some big-hitters in the mix.

There's been rumours and speculation around the latest instalment in the Assassin's Creed franchise, which we know now iwll be titled Revelations, and the curtain is set to be pulled back on it in a big way. Another title I'm very much looking forward to is Driver: San Fransisco, especially on the success of it's previous incarnations.

Of course, it wouldn't be an Ubisoft event without the announcement of a new Tom Clancy's title, and I'm ecstatic to say that there won't be just one new Ghost Recon game, but two! We've known about the possibility of TC's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier for a while, and the series has a heritage of taking the now-all-too-common military shooter and combining futuristic tech with gripping storylines (GRAW, GRAW2) and having seen some of the screens and trailers that were out, this has just jumped straight to the top of my 'must-have' list.

The other TC's Ghost Recon title looks to be called Online, and, as the name suggests, will be a "3rd person Multiplayer, cover based" Free-to-Play title. Not too many details about whether it'll be browser-based or standalone client, but either way will definitely be one to look out for.

Ubi is also heading further into the Music games space with Rocksmith, touting it as a "revolutionary new music experience that is the first and only game that plugs into any real guitar" Outside the Convention Centre, they'll have a Rocksmith tour-bus set up, so you can jump on and check it out for yourself... Feel free to bring your own Axe and show of your face-melting licks!

I don't know about you, but all those plastic-peripheral music games just got a whole lot... tackier.

E3 kicks off June 7-9 at the LA Convention Centre. The Ubisoft press conference is on June 6th, starting 2:30pm PST.
